I’ve always had the dilemma on how to add seam allowances to my custom patterns. I’ve finally figured out an easy way to do it. I’m sure it isn’t new, but I thought I’d share it with you.
Sew it in.
Cut your paper pattern with 2” extra around the seam allowance. If you don’t have enough room, just cut the pattern out and tape to another sheet of paper. Sew in your seam allowance following the pattern edge as a guide. I use the 1/2” wide presser foot from a bias binder foot.
